Gastrointestinal disorders account for approximately one in 10 illnesses in adults and an even greater proportion in children. Australian medical research is among the best in the world but, we still have only limited understanding of many gastrointestinal problems, their symptoms and appropriate treatment. The Gut Foundation has made major efforts to improve community awareness of important health problems.

:: Mission

To improve the management of digestive health by coordinating clinical care and research activities.

To provide a family of support for all persons with gastrointestinal disease, their families, their caregivers and their friends.

Prevention and cure of gastro intestinal cancers through clinical care and research.

:: Our Goals & Objectives

  • To Provide professional and public education in digestive disorders to improve gastrointestinal health.
  • patient education on medical research and participation in new therapies and research activities.
  • To disseminate and update information regarding Gastro-Intestinal services and research to clinicians and members of the public
  • Promote importance of Diagnoses/ Screening tests to detect risks and prevent bowel cancer.
  • To provide financial support for clinical and laboratory research in digestive disorders and gastro-intestinal malignancy.
